MOVE will ensure that your privacy and confidentiality are protected as we abide by The Australian Privacy Principles which set minimum standards covering the legitimate use of personal information.
MOVE collects personal information when necessary, when given voluntarily and which is stored safely.
Our data storage systems ensure that your information is stored safely, will not be accessed without authority and shared with any third party without your consent or disclosure as required by law.
You have the right to access your records.

Scope:
MOVE respects privacy and is committed to protecting personal information. This Policy outlines our commitment to meet the obligations which we hold regarding managing personal information we collect regarding our clients, potential clients, contractors and others. Personal information relates to information that can be used to identify that individual.
MOVE is bound by the National Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988.
Why does MOVE collect personal information?
MOVE collects personal information to conduct our business, to provide our services and to meet our legal obligations.
What kinds of personal information do we collect?
MOVE provides a range of services, including providing information and advice to clients and parties related to these matters, including courts, statutory authorities, insurance agents, employers and a wide range of professionals such as doctors, psychologists, physiotherapists etc.
Personal information can include gender, age, claim or case number, home address or phone numbers, email, language, level of education, training and family status. Health information can include health history, health conditions, test results, physical examination findings, diagnosis, clinical opinions and functional assessments. Professional and work information can include occupation/ profession, work hours, name of business contact, job descriptions and place of employment etc.
In the operation of our business, we are frequently required to collect, use and/or disclose both personal and sensitive information. In most cases, if the personal information we request is not provided, we are unable to supply the relevant service.
How do we collect personal information?
MOVE will generally collect personal information by way of forms filled out by us and our clients, during face-to-face meetings, interviews and telephone conversations and from third parties. Personal information can be received from a third party, for example a report provided by a doctor or training provider.
How might we use and disclose personal information?
MOVE uses and discloses personal information to support our clients with their individual program services.
To whom we might disclose personal information?
- A supplier of equipment
- An employer (if involved) including your manager and/ or supervisor
- Your treatment team such as treating doctor, specialist, physiotherapist and psychologist, for example
- Other companies or individuals who we communicate with in providing services
- Any other party that authority has been provided to disclose
Information Sharing Guidelines (for promoting safety and wellbeing) specific to South Australia:
As a provider we have an obligation to share information when we believe that in doing so it is likely to:
- Divert a person from offending or harming themselves
- Protect a person or groups or people from potential harm, abuse or neglect
- Protect service providers in situations of danger
- Help service providers more effectively address risks to safety and wellbeing
- Alert other service providers to an individual’s need for assistance
In these incidents, we do not need to seek your approval.
Sensitive information
Personal information which we collect can be ‘sensitive information’ which can include information relating to a person’s racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, health information, religion, trade union or other professional or trade association membership, sexual preferences and criminal record.
Sensitive information will be used and disclosed only for the purpose for which it was provided or a directly related secondary purpose, unless you agree otherwise, or where certain other limited circumstances apply (for example, where required by law).
How do we keep personal information accurate and up-to-date?
MOVE endeavours to ensure that the personal information we hold is accurate, complete and up-to-date. We encourage contact to update any personal information we hold.
You can gain access to your personal information
Subject to the exceptions set out in the Privacy Act, you may gain access to the personal information which MOVE holds about you by contacting management. We will require you to verify your identity and to specify what information you require.
